Internet and the e-Business
We are a group of five and our topic is Internet and the e-Business.
E-Business may be defined as the application of information and communication technologies in support of all the activities of business.First of all, it is a possibility to communicate from business to business, but also to communicate from business to costumers. In practise e-business enables companies to link their internal and external data processing system more efficienttly and flexibly. In that way it´s possible to work more closely with costumers and partners, and have a better connection inside the company.
I read two articles published in a magazine called Business Week.
“J.C. Penney gets the net“ is the topic of the first article. The article is about a company called Penney Corp. . This company does not only use the Internet to make sales, but also to get shoppers to stores. With this strategy Penney has one of the most productive Web sites among mainstream retailers.
The second article is called “In the Zone“. This articel is about George Bodenheimer, the president of the ESPN Networks and ABC Sports. He and his company are using the Internet and other platforms to push his world-beating brand even deeper into the lives of sports fans.
In nowadays the Internet is so important. Not only for companies also for individual persons. I´m one of the lucky person who doesn´t have Internet at home yet. Especially when you´re a student it´s so hard to be connected, i´m really looking forward to have Internet at home;)
